Quadracópteros, Silicone esmagado, Libélulas, Wikihow, e calcular a Alimentação dum Crcuito

Para Pesquisa, nas Universidades, ou como Brinquedo, eis um Quadracóptero barato e mais fácil de controlar:

Tiny NanoQ quadrocopter could serve as an inexpensive research platform – or a fun toy

Jason Falconer

QFO Labs, a Minneapolis-based start-up, is attempting to launch a mini quadcopter toy called the NanoQ. It uses inexpensive 3-axis gyros and accelerometers to remain stable mid-flight, and comes with a one-handed remote that integrates tilt sensors for smooth and natural control – and unlike most quadrotors, the NanoQ's propellers are inverted which prevents them from colliding with ceilings.

How to boost lithium battery performance – just add crushed silicon

Jason Falconer

Researchers at Rice University and Lockheed Martin may have developed a low-cost method of creating longer-lasting, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. Currently graphite is used as the anode in commercial li-ion products, despite the fact that a silicon anode could potentially store ten times more lithium ions. The team says it has solved one of the problems associated with silicon, which nearly triples the energy density of current li-ion designs.
Engineer Sibani Lisa Biswal and research scientist Madhuri Thakur had been working on a porous silicon film with sponge-like properties, but wanted to create something more applicable to the current battery manufacturing process.
They discovered that by crushing the film, the resulting powder had a surface area 50 times that of regular crushed silicon. The result is an anode material that can hold a charge of 1,000 milliamp hours per gram compared to graphite anodes, which store 350 mAh/g – and that's only a third of its theoretical capacity.

TechJect’s Dragonfly micro UAV flies like a bird and hovers like an insect

Darren Quick

Given their impressive flight capabilities, it’s not surprising to see researchers turning to the world of flying insects for inspiration when developing new kinds of micro UAVs. With their ability to both fly at high speeds and hover, the dragonfly would seem an obvious candidate for biomimicry. But with the exception of the DelFly, we hadn’t seen many attempts to model a micro UAV on the dragonfly’s four wing design. That could be changing with a multi-disciplinary team from Georgia Tech having developed a robotic four-winged ornithopter called the TechJect Dragonfly that fits in the palm of a hand and combines the flight capabilities of a quadricopter, helicopter and fixed wing aircraft in one.

Old saw blades can be recycled into knives if you have the right equipment and enough time. This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to make a guthook knife out of a saw blade from start to finish. Only experts should attempt to carry out these steps, since working with sharp edges and power tools can be very dangerous without proper training and experience.

How to Calculate Power Supply Accuracy

If we go back a couple decades’ the output level of an instrumentation power supply typically had to be set by turning the supply's analog knob and watching the display of your voltmeter connected to the supply's output to achieve an accurate voltage level. Today that is still true with low end power supplies, but mid range and high performance supplies can deliver an accurate user set voltage level that you can trust. In this post we will take a look at power supply accuracy specs including how to determine a power supply’s voltage level accuracy as well as some other power supply accuracy calculations.
